Dr. Ajit Salunke, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering,
Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, visited Automation Expo 2026,
held from 22–25 July 2026 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre (BEC), Goregaon,
Mumbai. Automation Expo is one of Asia's largest exhibitions on industrial
automation, robotics, smart manufacturing, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
The expo featured over 2,000 exhibitors and showcased more than 40,000
products and solutions in industrial automation, robotics, Industrial Internet of
Things (IIoT), artificial intelligence, machine vision, motion control, sensors,
PLCs, SCADA systems, industrial communication, cybersecurity, and digital
manufacturing. Live demonstrations of robotic systems, autonomous
technologies, and smart factory solutions provided valuable insights into the
latest advancements in manufacturing automation.
During the visit, interactions were held with representatives from leading
automation companies to understand emerging technologies, industrial
applications, and opportunities for academia–industry collaboration. The visit
provided exposure to current trends in digital manufacturing, smart factories,
predictive maintenance, and AI-enabled industrial systems.
