DBCE Innovation Sprint – Smart Campus Challenge for FE Orientation

The DBCE Innovation Sprint – Smart Campus Challenge was conducted on 12th August 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The event was organized by the Department of Computer Engineering, Don Bosco College of Engineering. It aimed to promote creativity, innovation, and problem-solving among first-year students. Participants designed futuristic smart campus solutions based on various engaging themes. Themes included Campus 2040, Zero-Waste Campus, Robot Takeover, and more. Students actively used AI tools for idea generation and design development. They ensured originality and took ownership of their creative decisions. The event emphasized explaining and justifying their innovative concepts. Students incorporated sustainability, smart energy, safety, and wellbeing in their designs.

The judging focused on innovation, design, originality, and communication. The event was judged by Mr. Jayden Gomes and Mr. Jayden D’Souza. Both judges appreciated the creativity and enthusiasm of the participants. Several spot awards were given for outstanding performances. Categories included Best Smart Campus, Most Innovative Idea, and Best Use of Technology. Additional awards recognized Funniest Concept, Greenest Campus, and Best Teamwork. The event saw active and enthusiastic participation from all students. Students presented creative, practical, and futuristic solutions. The atmosphere was lively, interactive, and full of innovative discussions.

The event provided valuable experiential learning using AI tools. It concluded successfully with students expressing great enthusiasm and enjoyment.
