The Fire & Securities Association of India (FSAI) Student Chapter of Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, conducted a practical demonstration on the safe and effective use of fire extinguishers at Don Bosco College, Panjim, on 22 August 2026. The session was initiated by Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz, Director, Don Bosco, Panjim and witnessed active participation from the faculty and students of the college.
The demonstration was conducted by Asst. Professor Aniket Naik, Coordinator, FSAI DBCE Student Chapter, accompanied by student volunteers from the Third-Year Mechanical Engineering: Ashley Fernandes, Brugan Rodrigues, Kevin Fernandes, Veig Karmali, Shaibaz Badgi, and Shuban Dessai. The session focused on creating awareness about basic fire safety practices, the appropriate selection of extinguishers, and their correct use during emergencies. As part of the practical session, the operation of Carbon Dioxide (CO₂) and A-B-C Dry Chemical Powder (DCP) extinguishers was demonstrated, covering their applications, operating procedures, safety precautions, and limitations. The live demonstration provided participants with hands-on understanding of handling extinguishers and responding effectively to small fire emergencies.
