SIP on Student to Startup 2026

Faculty Coordinator: Prof. Floyd Avina Fernandes
Date: 11th August 2026
Time: 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM

A Student to Startup (SIP) Session was conducted on 11th August 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, for first-year engineering students. The session aimed to introduce students to entrepreneurship and encourage them to explore entrepreneurial opportunities from the early stages of their engineering journey.

The session featured two fourth-year Computer Engineering students and young entrepreneurs, Mr. Shrinivas Inamdar, Co-Founder & COO of Carbon Bazaar, and Mr. Sai Rane, Founder & CEO of Neural Kissan.

Mr. Shrinivas Inamdar shared his entrepreneurial journey, highlighting his involvement in the Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell), participation in various pitching events, and his experience in developing Carbon Bazaar. He discussed the challenges, opportunities, and learning experiences involved in building a startup as a student. He also shared insights into the grants, support, and opportunities that contributed to the development of his venture.

Mr. Sai Rane shared his journey as a student entrepreneur and introduced Neural Kissan, explaining its concept and working. He discussed his experiences in developing the startup, participating in various entrepreneurial opportunities, and receiving multiple grants and recognitions throughout his entrepreneurial journey.

Both sessions were highly interactive and focused on sharing practical experiences rather than merely discussing theoretical concepts. The speakers encouraged students to participate in competitions, get involved in college activities, explore innovative ideas, build projects, learn from failures, and make effective use of the opportunities available during their engineering years.

The SIP on Student to Startup provided first-year students with valuable practical insights into entrepreneurship and demonstrated how students can begin exploring ideas, developing projects, and creating opportunities while still in college. The session also highlighted the importance of taking initiative, experimenting with ideas, and learning through real-world experiences.

Overall, the session successfully encouraged students to think beyond conventional career paths and consider entrepreneurship as a potential career option. It provided an inspiring platform for first-year students to understand how a student can progress from having an idea to developing it into a startup while making effective use of the resources, competitions, mentorship, grants, and opportunities available during their engineering journey.
